Nambikkai - House of Hope is a Non-Profit Making Organisation
We are committed to bringing hope to the underprivileged, downtrodden and unreached people in India. We aim to see people set free from their social, economic and spiritual bondages regardless of their religious, social or cultural/caste background. We include the local community in our projects so that the whole neighbourhood benefits from the farm.
Our sustainable projects offer job opportunities for the unemployed; education; training; micro-finance; development assistance; empowerment of women; enabling children to attend school; spreading education and knowledge; food distribution; promotion of local ownership; motivation to give people the confidence to make their own decisions for their future.
Nambikkai - House of Hope is a tax deductible charity which is registered in Switzerland.
Where we are
Nambikkai – House of Hope is based at a spice farm in the state of Kerala, in the region of Idukki, South India. Idukki is known as one of the most backward and poorest districts in Kerala. It is also famous for its natural beauty, hillsides covered in plantations of tea, coffee and cardamom etc. In the future the farm is to be at the centre of a self-supporting (self-sustaining) ministry funded by the harvest that the farm produces. The plantations attract migrant workers, many of these are Dalit or disadvantaged, they work very long hours and are paid less than $4 a day.
